Bigger, more brutal, and more spectacular: new miniatures for the Sons of Behemat

The Sons of Behemat are about to get new reinforcements that keep one of Age of Sigmar’s most distinctive identities intact: bringing enormous miniatures to the table and turning every game into a spectacle.
The new wave includes Ma Maegran, the Chooser of the Mighty, accompanied by two Ancient Ghyrochs, plus a new Gargant unit that can be built in two different ways.
This expansion also reinforces one of the traits that make the faction so recognisable. In an army where every model is already colossal, adding new miniatures is not just about increasing the number of available units. It is about introducing new personalities, silhouettes, and ways to build an army of giants.
Giants, but with a bit more variety
Ma Maegran stands out for her background as a seer and witch who can bestow or strip away the blessing of almighty bigness, while the Ancient Ghyrochs bring two enormous beasts tied to the life magic of Ghyran.

But perhaps the most interesting addition for many players is the Boss-stompers, a unit of three Gargants that can also be built as Rock-hurlers.
Both options are a bit bigger than a Mancrusher Gargant, though they are still considered “little” when compared with Mega-Gargants. Their rules will arrive with the new Battletome: Sons of Behemat.

This variety is especially interesting because it lets the range explore different sides of the Gargants without drifting away from their core concept. The new additions give the army more visual and gameplay options without losing that look of enormous creatures that can turn any object on the battlefield into a possible weapon.
Our take
The Sons of Behemat needed exactly this: new miniatures that expand the collection without losing the essence that makes the faction different. Ma Maegran has a very distinctive visual personality, and the Boss-stompers offer a fun alternative to the usual enormous monsters.
The arrival of these miniatures also shows that Games Workshop can keep developing a faction built around an extremely specific concept without turning it into something completely different. More options do not have to mean losing identity, and in this case the design still seems to be doubling down on what makes the Sons of Behemat special.
Now it is just a matter of waiting to see how these new units fit into the new battletome. For anyone who enjoys narrative armies and those games where a single miniature can literally become the centre of attention, the Gargants still have a lot to offer.
